Jadrolinija has issued two official Sunday notices for 12 April 2026 that matter for late-day island travel from Split. The evening vehicle ferry to Stari Grad on Hvar now leaves at 21:00 instead of 20:30, while the evening ferry to Rogač on Šolta leaves at 21:15 instead of 20:30.
This is not a coast-wide disruption story, but it is a real same-day planning change on two heavily used Split routes. If your arrival in Split, apartment check-in, or island pickup was built around the normal late-evening departures, update the timing now and recheck once more before you head to the port.
Before you go: do not rely on an older screenshot or a remembered 20:30 departure. Open the official Jadrolinija notices again on Sunday before leaving for the port.
What changed on Sunday 12 April
Route | Official Sunday departure | Previously shown time | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
Split - Stari Grad (Hvar) | 21:00 | 20:30 | Recheck your reservation and shift your port arrival plan. |
Split - Rogač (Šolta) | 21:15 | 20:30 | Allow for the later departure, especially if you planned a same-evening arrival on the island. |
Why this matters more than it looks
The change lands on the last late departure window many travelers use after a flight, bus, or road arrival into Split. On the official route pages, Jadrolinija lists Split to Rogač as a 60-minute sailing and Split to Stari Grad as a 120-minute sailing, so a 30 to 45 minute delay at departure pushes island arrival even later once loading and unloading are added.
Jadrolinija also notes on both route pages that a ticket on these lines includes a reservation for the chosen departure. That makes the update more than a minor footnote: if you booked earlier or saved the standard timetable, you should confirm that the departure time shown on the day still matches your plan.
Who should recheck first
Drivers arriving in Split late: this is the most obvious risk group, especially if you are threading road arrival and boarding closely.
Travelers with check-ins on Hvar or Šolta: a later departure can move handover time, restaurant plans, or local transfer timing.
Sunday day-trippers who stay out until the last boat: the update is helpful, but it is not a reason to cut timings too fine.
Anyone coming through the Split access corridor: HAK's live traffic report still shows ongoing work around the wider Split approach, including the DC1 Solin-Klis section and A1-related restrictions near Bisko and Split.
What to do before leaving for the port

If you are driving in, check HAK live road conditions before you leave for the ferry port.
If your plan is flexible and you are still deciding how much time to give Šolta, our guide to Šolta from Split helps frame whether the island works better as a day trip or an overnight.
For longer island routing out of Split, our Split to Dubrovnik island-hopping route is useful context if Hvar is only one leg of a bigger plan.
Keep some margin at the port. A later scheduled departure does not automatically remove loading pressure if many vehicles arrive close together.
